ABOUT US

The Pilates Place is a bright and welcoming studio located on the third floor of the Kilburn Mill in the southend of New Bedford. Our studio offers both reformer and mat Pilates in group sessions and private sessions. The main focus of our studio is making Pilates accessible to everyone regardless of age or ability. We believe movement is not only crucial for physical health but also mental health. Our smaller class sizes make the studio welcoming and less intimidating. We truly believe movement heals the mind, body and soul.

Pilates was developed by a German physical trainer, Joseph Pilates in 1926. Pilates is a mind-body exercise that focuses on strengthen the core or “power house” Pilates exercises are low impact and focus on strengthen all muscles in the body including the deep core muscles.

At our studio group class sizes are small making the experience more tailored to your needs. If you are interested in joining group reformer classes but have never used the reformer before, we recommend booking a private intro session to become familiar. Our mat classes are open to all levels as modifications are offered throughout class.

GROUP CLASSES

Private sessions can be beneficial for people who are brand new to the reformer along with people who are at different points in their practice and are interested in receiving the 1:1 attention outside of a class setting.
