The Pilates Place is a bright and welcoming studio located on the third floor of the Kilburn Mill in the southend of New Bedford. Our studio offers both reformer and mat Pilates in group sessions and private sessions. Our mission is to make Pilates accessible to everybody. We create a welcoming, supportive space where people of all backgrounds, abilities, and experience levels feel seen, safe, and empowered to move. Through mindful movement, intentional teaching, and genuine connection, we build a strong community that supports not just physical strength, but mental clarity, emotional balance, and overall well-being. We believe movement heals-and when practiced together, it has the power to change lives.
Pilates was developed by a German physical trainer, Joseph Pilates in 1926. Pilates is a mind-body exercise that focuses on strengthen the core or “power house” Pilates exercises are low impact and focus on strengthen all muscles in the body including the deep core muscles.
At our studio group class sizes are small making the experience more tailored to your needs. If you are interested in joining group reformer classes but have never used the reformer before, we recommend booking a private intro session to become familiar. Our mat classes are open to all levels as modifications are offered throughout class.

Private sessions can be beneficial for people who are brand new to the reformer along with people who are at different points in their practice and are interested in receiving the 1:1 attention outside of a class setting.
